The best katsudon in Singapore on our data are Omote for a $23.80 pork Katsudon, Tenya for a $13.60++ chicken katsu don simmered with egg, and Ryokudo for a $14.90 chicken Katsu Toji Don in Raffles Place. Nine more places follow, from a $3.50 hawker bowl in Ang Mo Kio to a $29.90 tomahawk pork cutlet, and we say plainly where a bowl is a katsu curry rather than a cutlet cooked with egg.
How we chose
We ranked bowls where the cutlet is cooked with egg, or is the shop's headline item, ahead of katsu curry bowls, and within that we put 2026 prices ahead of 2025 ones. Closed and unverified listings are left out, and so are places whose katsu bowl has no published price, such as Gochi-So Shokudo at Novena Square and Don Meijin. The price band is the shop's overall band in our directory: $ is a typical bowl under $12, $$ is $12 to $25 and $$$ is over $25. A ++ means service charge and GST are added. 1. Omote Flagship Thomson Plaza
Area: Thomson. Order: Katsudon, $23.80
Omote is known for chirashi, so this is a specialist's side dish rather than its headline. The Katsudon is deep fried Hokkaido snow pork with onions in a savoury egg, from the March 2026 menu, and prices are listed before service charge. The flagship is closed on Monday and Tuesday. It serves pork, so it is not halal. See the Omote chain page.
2. Tenya
Area: Orchard. Order: Katsu Don, $13.60++
A chicken fillet cutlet simmered with egg and sliced onions on rice, the classic form of the dish, from the chain's own online store in October 2026. The same menu has an Omori Gyudon with tempura egg at $15.40++. The first outlet is Orchard Central, which opened on 15 October 2020 and runs 11am to 10pm daily.
3. Ryokudo
Area: Raffles Place. Order: Katsu Toji Don (chicken), $14.90
A Jakarta donburi concept that opened at Far East Square in January 2026. A toji bowl binds the cutlet with egg, and a weekday lunch set upgrade for $3 adds chawanmushi, miso soup and hojicha. Prices are as of January 2026. It is closed on Sunday and shuts at 3pm on Saturday.
4. Haru-Haru
Area: Bugis. Order: Mentai Pork Katsu Don (XL), $9.90
A stall at Shifu Food Court in Bras Basah Complex, run by an ex izakaya head chef and built around mentaiko. The Mentai Pork Katsu Don in XL size is $9.90, and the Chicken Katsu Curry is $9.90 as well, per Eatbook in November 2025. It is a six minute walk from City Hall MRT and opens 11am to 9:30pm daily.
5. Fukudon Marine Parade
Area: Katong. Order: Pork Belly Katsu Don, $7.50
Fukudon began in 2020 as a fusion Japanese stall at Promenade Market on Marine Parade Central. Eatbook's November 2025 cheap Japanese list shows the Pork Belly Katsu Don at $7.50 and a Sous Vide Chicken Don at $6.80, and SethLui lists the stall as still trading. It opens 11am to 8pm daily.
6. Hatsumi Donburi and Soba
Area: Raffles Place. Order: Chicken Katsu Curry Don, $10.90
A halal certified shop at Raffles Xchange whose site, current in 2026, says it adds no service charge or GST. The katsu bowl is a curry version rather than an egg bowl, and the Grilled Miso Chicken Don is $9.90. It is open Monday to Friday 10:30am to 8pm and Saturday to 5pm, and closed on Sunday.
7. Maruhachi Donburi and Curry
Area: Punggol. Order: Chicken Katsu Curry, $8.80
A kopitiam stall at Edgefield Plains in Punggol. SethLui's 2026 review lists the Chicken Katsu Curry at $8.80 and a Blackpig Katsu Teishoku Set at $15.80, which comes as a set meal rather than a bowl. Its signature bowl is the $12.80 Una Tama Don, with eel and egg. Open 11am to 9pm daily.
8. Oiishii Corner
Area: Bishan. Order: Chicken Katsu Curry Don, $6.00
A halal stall at Kim Keat Palm Market and Food Centre in Toa Payoh, listed under Bishan in our directory. SethLui's April 2026 update gives the price, and the stall also sells a $6.50 beef don. It opens 11am to 6pm and is closed on Fridays.
9. Tonkatsu by Ma Maison
Area: Orchard. Order: Katsu-Don (Rosu, pork loin), $26.30++
A tonkatsu restaurant on level 2 of Mandarin Gallery where the bowl is a minority of the menu. The Katsu-Don is a pork loin cutlet with egg, served with tonjiru and pickles, and the Hire pork fillet version is $27.30++. Prices are from menu images last modified in January 2025, so this is the oldest source on the list and worth confirming. It serves pork.
10. YukiDon
Area: Bishan. Order: Chicken Katsu Don, $8.90
A coffeeshop stall at Bishan Street 13 whose second outlet opened in September 2023. Every bowl comes with a slow cooked onsen egg and cucumber, and the Ebi Fry Don is also $8.90. Prices are from a SethLui update in July 2025, and it opens daily 11am to 8:30pm.
11. Konomi Zen
Area: Ang Mo Kio. Order: Katsu Don, $3.50
A hawker stall in Ang Mo Kio 628 Market and Food Centre with the lowest price on this list. The Katsu Don is $3.50 and the Tendon is $5. The price is from a November 2025 Eatbook guide, hours are Tuesday to Friday, and weekends and Monday are assumed closed, so check before you go.
12. Tanuki Raw
Area: Orchard. Order: Giant Tomahawk Pork Katsu Don, $29.90
A restaurant and bar at Orchard Central whose Giant Tomahawk is a 300g bone in pork cutlet with salted egg sauce. A Salmon Katsu Curry Don is $19.90. Prices are from the official menu in October 2026, before service charge and GST. It is a showpiece rather than an everyday katsudon, so it ranks last.

Katsudon, katsu curry don and toji
Katsudon is a cutlet cooked with egg and onion in a savoury broth and laid over rice. A toji bowl is the same idea with the egg set loosely, and a katsu curry don swaps the egg for curry sauce. Pork is the usual cutlet, though several places here use chicken, which matters if you avoid pork.
