Man Man Japanese Unagi Restaurant opened on Keong Saik Road in 2016 under Chef Teppei Yamashita's Teppei group, serving Nagoya style charcoal grilled unagi from the Mikawa Isshiki region, with live eels kept in tanks. It won a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2017 and is known for hitsumabushi, eaten plain, with condiments and as a dashi tea. A second outlet is listed at The Central near Clarke Quay, and the Keong Saik outlet appears renamed Unagi Tei. Dine in bowls cost roughly 19 to 27 dollars in the latest reviews found, a premium to the affordable eel chains.
