Butahage comes from Obihiro in Hokkaido, widely seen as the home of butadon, and its Singapore arm is led by a third generation family member. The brand first opened in Singapore at Liang Court in 2015, left in 2018, and returned in 2023 at Suntec City, then added Century Square and Pasir Ris Mall. The signature is pork loin grilled over flame and brushed with a tare sauce said to be over 80 years old, served on Hokkaido Nanatsuboshi rice. A regular pork loin don cost about 12 to 20 dollars in 2023 to 2024, before service charge.
